Hi there...
I will really appreciate if someone can provide me a solution for this case. I'm in the business of software development. Recently, I found an interesting software that is already selling on the market and I "duplicated" it, add some more features and sell it as my own, with a different software name. When I say duplicate, I refer to the features of the software and part of the interface. No graphics involved. The interface is all done in hard codes. The original software was coded in another language and mine is coded in Visual Basic. So all the codings were made from scratch. Now the company is asking me to cease the sale of this software because the interface looks alike (no pics or graphics. Just the display of the buttons and text boxes, and all done thru codings) and say that I infringed copyright laws. But they can't provide any proof of similar codes since I wrote it from scratch. So my question is: Did I infringe copyright laws because I have the same interface like them? How come it's considered "copied" when I coded everything from scratch and also in another programming language? Pls advise me. Thank you. Last edited by nakata123 : 06-03-2008 at 08:49 PM. |
