Confused Using a Real Name of Fiction in a Blog

Recently, I posted some writings in a blog. The purpose of doing that was to solicit feedback on the plot development and writing style.

These were based on writings I did in Junior High (25+ years ago). I conceived the concept many years ago, but decided to craft it into something tangible. I had originally picked character names of people in my Junior High class. There were no simularities between the characters and real life people - I only used the names.

When I posted this, I edited out the last names and changed some others. However I left one last name in there. The author contacted me, wanted to know who I was and how I knew him.

I was embarrassed by the situation. I apologized, told him that I was a classmate of his and immediately took down the writings from the blog.

I certainly didnt intend to embarrass anyone . On the blog, I explained how I developed this story.

Is this enough? I feel very bad. I havent heard back from the person who contacted me. Could I be in legal trouble?

Not really--if you removed it you should be fine.

...he would not really have any damages...
