copyright
I bought some clothing patterns that were not copyrighted by the author. The author of these patterns is now deceased. I placed these patterns on an online auction in their original form. I received an email from a woman who is not her heir telling me to remove them immediately because it was copyright infringement. Evidently the uncopyrighted pattern masters have been purchased from her estate by this person. The new owner has revised the original pattern masters and then she copyrighted only the revised masters. I believe she could not copyright the originals as they are not her work.Does her copyright of the revised pattern masters give her the power to prevent me from selling my originals or only her revised patterns u that are under the copyright? Thanks!

Well even the originals could have some copyright protection by law. You may want to have a lawyer review details with you if this is important.
They may have some copyright protection...you may needs to negotiate with them. |
