I am a hurricane Katrina survivor. I contracted the rebuild of my home with
a contractor in 2/2006. My home has had no repairs made and this contractor has basically run-off with my money. What steps should I take to go after this thief? Also, does this fall under business and finance law? |

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against them (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney but amounts are limited...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behavior... You may also report them to your state attorney general's office. World Law attorneys could also become directly involved. Email them too if you wish.
