I have read most of complain on your side about Great Expectations Dating Service. I have same experience as these people. Great Expectations rip me off, they only care how to get your money. They told me they will get a new credit card without interest with low monthly payment for me, then they will transfer $2995 (they charged me from my old credit card) to this new credit card; After they took my $2995 from my credit card, they never really help me to get a new credit card; I have to pay 19.99% interest rate. I wanted to cancel my membership at same day, they told me there is no cancelation.... They are not honest. I am a single mom with two young boys, and my contract job was finished, I have no income. But I have to pay high interest rate for this $2995. I feel so depress since they got me. |

I wish to inform you that you may contact Great Expectations Dating Service at their Toll Free number given on their Website. Alternatively, you may contact their office in Illinois. They have two offices in Illinois in Chicago and Chicago Suburbs. They can be contacted between 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in their Chicago office all days of the week. If they fail to resolve the matter, you may file a lawsuit in the Small Claims Court. You may submit proof of payment to the Court. You may also submit other available evidence to show your viewpoint to the Court. The burden of proof to show breach of contract by the other party will be on you. You may claim damages and costs. The Court will consider all the facts and decide the matter.

I don't know how you expected a dating website to hook you up with a low interest credit card and why you let them take so much out of your credit card. I think you should contact the Better Business Bureau in your state and see what they say. You should also file a dispute for the charge on your card with your credit card company.

You posted another question in the forums regarding how much a dating service in NY could charge per year. From what you post here, at $2,995 that would be in excess of what the law allows.
See your other post. And if the dating service violated NY law, then contact the NY State Attorney General for they could not have charged you more the $1,000 per year and a 2-year contract is the limit. Dating services are regulated in New York by state law and if they have violated it, the NY Attorney General is the one who can intervene for you. |
