Can a car dealer go back on a deal?
I've been in negotiations for a used vehicle with a car dealership in Plano, TX for the last two days to purchase a used 2006 Mini Cooper. The vehicle originally started at around $22,500, and after much haggling, I got them to lower the cost to $20,650.
In an e-mail I requested that the dealership verify the pricing as I understood it, to reflect the agreed to initial cost of $20,650, where the dealership indicates that if I agree to trade in my car and accept $4,000 for it, then we have a deal. Now they're sending the paperwork and attempting to go back on their offer and up it by $2,120 to $22,860. I have this dealership saying, in writing, that they agreed to selling the car for $20,650. Am I able to hold them to that? |
