Business - No Public liability - customer fell over

I run a bar in which a customer (having had only a couple of drinks) fell down a step and dislocated her shoulder. Though it was (in my opinion) obviously her own fault for not watching where she was going (she was selling raffle tickets at the time), She is now trying to claim compensation!
Although I am sure we have done everything reasonable to make the place safe, I am a little worried as I do not have public liability insurance...
1 - Could she be able to claim?
2 - Do I need to go through a solicitor? (as I cannot afford one!) orshould I just state to her that it is her own fault?
