Review:
for all it's power this computer performs very decently.
unfortunately, the heat dissipation design of this computer needs to be re-engineered, seriously!

first, the heat exhaust vents are too small and wimpy! one vent is even placed poorly infront where the display monitor blocks it when the monitor is raised to a 90 degree angle.

second, the palm rest gets so hot you can use as a pan to fry eggs on!

I spoke to Dell TS about the heat, first they recomnended that the BIOS be upgraded, which I did. I tried using the computer for a couple of days but to no avail.
Then they recommended that a Tech be sent to replace the fans, which i declined, no sense changing parts to a "BRAND NEW" machine right? and besides m not comfortable going thru that process so early into the life of my notebook.
They gave me a replacement unit to try out instead. I rcvd the replacement and used it for 2 days, putting in the same load as i did my original unit. Still no joy! so i thought that this heat thing is not being caused by faulty fans or anything related but really a common issue to this model.

The only way that I helped myself here was to do a couple of things,
1)elevate the base of the laptop so as to let more air in, this only helped a bit!
2)buy a notebook cooling pad! an added expense which also did not do much!
3)stay in an airconditioned or cold room!

this solution, in combination with either 1 or 2 definitely has been the one that has worked for me so far.

i understand that later model processors and computers for that matter, generate tremendous heat! i also understand that acoustics and noise control be employed to prevent excessive fan noise, and also to aid in aesthetics.
However a balance must be drawn between these and the proper cooling of these notebook computers.
Because, really, how can you use an eye-candy of a laptop pc if u can't type on it without burning your palms!

However i must recommend Dell's customer service and tech support! with a little patience, these guys are very commendable! this is the only bright spot i saw
