Default Re: falsely overcharged

This restaurant named Dim Sum King at 9160 Bellaire Blvd in Houston, TX took more money than I authorized them to take from my credit card.

On April 26, the total cost for my family lunch and tips was $60.00 and I signed and authorized Dim Sum King to charge $60.00 from my credit card then I checked my bank transaction and Dim Sum King actually charged my acount for $61.00. I thought it was their mistake then they key in the amount and overcharged me by $1.00 so I let that go.

On August 22, the total cost fo rmy family lunch and tips was $43.25 and I signed and authorized Dim Sum King to charge $43.25 from my credit card then I checked my bank transaction and Dim Sum King actually charged my account for $43.75. This time they overcharged me by 50 cents.

I believe Dim Sum King overcharged on purpose so I went into the restaurant and spoke to the manager in person and asked why she kept taking more money from my actual authorized amounts. She told me that she has been doing that in her business for years for customers who used credit cards to cover the cost of credit card transactions and her overhead costs.

Is that legal for Dim Sum King restaurant to do that? No where on the bills to show me the extra costs for credit card transactions. Can they just take whatever amounts they feel like it on top of the amounts I authorized?

I told the manager I will never return to Dim Sum King restaurant again for the way they are doing business. They push the costs onto customers without telling them.
