Referral Marketing Scheme / Multi Level Marketing

I want to know whether the Multi Level Marketing business schemes (like Amway, TLC, etc.,) are legal or illegal all around the world, especially in India.

Note:
In India, there is an Act named 'Prize Chits and Money Circulation Scheme (Banning) Act, 1978.

That depends on how the business is operating. Clearly Amway is legal and a huge company.

But firms that really have no product and simply collect lower level fees from new members are not legal and the US prosecutes people frequently for that.

There are a lot of scams out there but I have to tell you, Amway is not one of them. No I do not sell Amway!! But they have been around a long time, and they sell a legit product. Like a lot of other home based business. Such as Watkins, Pampered Chef. ETC. It is sad that they all get a bad name because of the ones that are scams.
I know where you are coming from, it is hard when you are looking for a home based business. Just do your home work and talk to the people that can find out. I am sure you will find a # of Government agencies that can tell you if a company is legit. Or Google it. I have worked in Home Based businesses for years and have always done well with them. There is no easy road you do have to work at any Business. So if they tell you that you can make a ton of money and do nothing for it, STAY AWAY. and look for a MLM or Network Marketing Company that sells a legit product and a good product.
Do your home work..
I think you will find out that MLM or Network Marketing is the way of the future.
