I too have deposited money on a boat from boat depot after 2 weeks of nothing I my emails being ignored I finally got a reply that I didn't cover 50% of the cost and needed to depsoit up to $250.00 more to cover it. I than asked for an email with shipping contact numbers and info along with a phone number to contact a rep from boat depot. Needless to say no reply was ever received and I never sent more mony. To me this is a scam, I have contact Better business bureau, Consumer protection, FBI, and Local Police who are currently working to resolve this issue and get my $$$$$$$$$$$$ back. Not to mention my ignored emails daily. Take this warning and stay away from boatsdepot.org it is a frau/scam. If you read their refund policy which I have met and still no money returned.

We asked about a boat being sold by John Martalo, got a reply from Donald James with the email return address of Tony Connors....same story as told above. Can't contact the company or the seller once initial contact was made. We aren't sending anyone any money--yet they haven't asked for any yet. Gee, we didn't even get any shipping details! bkg

This is all a scam. The emails we have gotten have incorrect English, poor syntax and terrible spelling. These people are not even American! We have done a bit of investigation and it gets worse and worse. DHL says they don't ship anything weighing more than 100 lbs so how can they ship a boat IN 2 DAYS!! Do not buy anything from these people! SCAM SCAM SCAM!!

My husband was all excited when he thought he saw the deal of the century on a used boat.

I ran comparison figures and realized that the price being quoted was 10 times less than what the market rate was. I was very wary. For some reason I couldnt find anything negative about the company on the internet (couldn't find anything positive either) so I told my husband to go ahead and provide his name and address to boatsdepot as requested by seller. Lo and behold, alarm bells started ringing when I read the email response from boatsdepot.org. Western Union only transactions, broken english and poorly constructed sentences. I immediately thought scam! So I ran the address of the supposed seller provided in the email and guess what, the address came back to a school cafeteria in Virginia. In another email I asked for the sellers location so that we could arrange for a marine survey to be done on the vessel. Of course, we never heard from them again. Stay away from Boatsdepot.org

Exclamation Re: buying a boat

SCAM
I also was almost taken for but thank goodness my wife looked into it.We found a boat in Alabama with a price to good to be true. I sent several emails asking to speak with anyone. My wife and I did a search on the internet to look for the seller Harris Kentonath and his address but we could not find anyone with that name or address in the State of Alabama. One other red flag was the spelling and syntax on the emails that were sent back. The response from the seller was he was a Vet from Iraq, that was injured and his hearing was gone and it would be pointless to call me. If you notice there is no phone number on the web page as well. After several attempts to speak with anyone,we gave up. My question is why do I need to wire money to the UK to buy a boat from Alabama and how do they get away with this scam? My advise to anyone looking for a boat is Stay Away from boatsdepot.org. Also be patient. This is one of the last emails I recieved from the seller.

"I am a deaf-person.Is uselless to try to call you."

Thanks

"Harris Kentonath" <kentonath@yahoo.com>

I too, thought it had to be too good to be true, I emailed several times asking for a number so we could call and discuss the boat, I offered to drive 5 hours to look at the boat and most likely pick it up but was told I had to provide me name and address and details so they could arrange delivery and payment instructions. I kept getting the same email with the same misspelled words in the emails. I am glad I looked here before I wasted any more time on this. Thank you

Default Boats Depot.org contact info - they are a scam

I have found the same exact boat for sale for $1700 and they wanted me to wire money also. When I said that i would have my people pick the boat up at my expense and pay at that time I received no response. DO NOT SEND MONEY!!! I have been researching boatsdepot.org and have found that they have scammed multiple people out of their money.
