I am involved in a civil lawsuit as well as filing chapter 13 next week. Is their an automatic stay that will discharge the civil suit and if so, what do I need to know to make sure it it goes in that direction?

The bankruptcy stops all claims against you including most suits, except extreme fraud etc.
The trustee andn you should notify the parties in the suit. |
