Smile DISPUTE ATTORNEY CHARGES?

Our new Bk attorney was hired after the first one didn't respond to ph calls and emails. It took the new attorney 3 months to amend the plan. He agreed on a flat fee ($2,400) upfront and after first mo changed to hourly billing. After being in his office 3 consecutive months to sign the new amended plan he finally got it right. Crucial mistakes on the new amended plan that he was working on were made by him.Now we're stuck with a $13k bill. I'm planning to ask him to review the bill. What should I do if he doesn't want to lower it? I don't think that I should be responsible for over 350hours of work on this case if the mistakes were made by him/his firm. Please advise. Can I take this lawyer to court( What trade)? Should I hire a new lawyer that can help me dispute these outrageous charges? Thre is also a 20% annual interest on this fee if unpaid. Please help! We're in Northern California.

Default Re: DISPUTE ATTORNEY CHARGES?

You can hold him to the flat fee.

You can sue in small claims if need be. And you can file a fees complaint with the State Bar and they will review as well.
