Sold My Debt
My husband filed for chapter 7, about 2 weeks after it was filed a company sent us a letter saying that they had sole the debt about 4 days after filing, they said they are no longer the people we contact. So I called the people they sold the debt to, the guy I talked to said we don't need to add his company to the Bankruptcy that it still counts against the debt listed under the original creditor. I'm trying to figure out if this dude is lying and trying to make us still responsible for the debt.

I heard this is a tactic to retain the debt against you even after bankruptcy. I think the guy is lying. Talk to your lawyer is my suggestion.
