Confused VERIZON COLLECTIONS

I AM JUST CURIOUS. I SETTLED WITH NES (VERIZON WIRELESS COLLECTION AGENCY) FOR $2000 FOR AN OLD DEBT. I WAS NOW TOLD THAT IN ORDER TO SETTLE I HAVE TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL $189 FEE. WHAT'S THAT ALL ABOUT? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

That is not what you agreed so head to small claims court if need be. Even oral agreements are binding.

But, always get your settlement in writing to avoid these kinds of problems or to make it clear if you have to go into court.

Thank you so much for your reply. I thought something didn't seem right. Its like verizon doesn't want to pay the fee and they are trying to get it from me.
