divorce & Bankruptcy
No final judgement yet in the divorce, but I need to settle it, no more money for lawyer. So it looks like I am going to be straddle with debt from the divorce that I will not be able to pay. I cannot afford to let this go to trial, or maybe I should try and come up with the money to go to trial. Can I file for bankruptcy, once the divorce is final? If so, do I have to be behind in all of my finiacial obligations? I live in MA. Thanks

You may file at any time and you don't have to be behind but your debts should be such that you see no realistic way to pay them.
