My husband has had a judgement against him for a car that was repo in 2003. The judgement was in the amount of 16000. We pay 2400 a year but the attorneys office is charging almost 3000 a year in interest. Is there anyway to stop these interest charges so we can actually pay this debt off or are we stuck paying 200 a month every month from now on? I was thinking about chapter 13 bankruptcy, how does this work.

What do you mean the attorneys are charging $3000 a year in interest?
You only pay what the judgement says. Attorneys don't get to charge interest. Please be more specific and accurate. |
