Aren't Inspections Required?
Only Half of the Final Inspections Were Done on My New House.
When I had to take my builder to court the first time, during my research I discovered that only about half of the final inspections were ever done (approved by the city inspector) on my new house. Problems continue to surface and I am running out of time (or have already run out of time) on a lot of the components covered under California Code. I am worried that things will continue to surface and I might be stuck with a home that was not built to code. I brought that up in my first case and the judge never said anything about it. THE QUESTION: Isn't there a law that says a house must be built to code (with corresponding inspections) or the buyer gets a refund? Is there something that I can do about it before my house falls down? |
