question about contract for roof replacement - lien on house

I am trying to get a contractor to replace the roof on my house. I found a reputed construction company in my area who has been in business for several decades. Their contract looks pretty much standard, however I am somewhat concerned about one paragraph/clause in it that mentions creating a lien on my house.

"This contract creates a mortgage or lien against your property to secure payment and may cause a loss of your property if you fail to pay the amount agreed upon. You have the right to consult an attorney. You have the right to rescind this contract within 3 business days after the date you sign it by notifying the contractor in writing that you are rescinding the contract"

My questions is if this is normal/customary for such a contract or is this something I should be worried about? Do construction contracts typically have such clauses? I think that they law protects the contractor with mechanics lien in case of a default.
