Default Lied to by broker and/or mgmt company

I recently purchased a co-op with my husband. We were adament with the real estate agent that we had a dog and were only looking to purchase at a building that allowed dogs. We found what we thought was the perfect apartment and confirmed, again, before making an offer that the building allowed dogs. We were assured by the agent that she had checked with the co-ops management company and was told it was a pet friendly building and that dogs of any kind and size were allowed.

Fast forward three months later and we find out at closing AFTER all the documents are signed that the coop rules and regulations state that it is FORBIDDEN to have a dog, or any other animal for that fact. What recourse do we have? We thankfully were able to bring our dog to a family members house, but the emotional and mental anguish I feel now is immense. Can we sue for fraud? Can we sue for the right to keep our pet? I like our new place, but I love my dog more.
