I am on what ebay calls "automatic payment" for any fees that i have
as a result of listing and selling on ebay. Since appx Nov 2006 I have been getting late notices saying that my account was overdue. The first time it happened I figured it was a fluke and made, as they requested a "one-time" payment to clear account. The problem keeps recurring. I have explained that to them that they are not living up to their part of our agreement to deduct fees directly from account they were given and that as a result of their internal problems I am subjected to punitive measures through no fault of my own (my account is put on hold, I can do no trading). Several times they have sited a "security" issue that has resulted in an "exclusion" being put on my account, so they do not deduct. When I ask them what the security problem is, I am completely ignored. That is up to this last time when I was told that they (billing) have not got access to that type of data (reason for exclusion, "security problem") and that I must talk to "trust and Safety". I have emailed them and received no answer. Meanwhile, I am in the process of being unable to bid on items that I had originally bid on prior to them putting my account on hold. It is very frustrating as you can imagine due to their "no phone number" policy. I had been promised that they would eliminate the problem and that subsequent warning notice could be ignored. On my last exchange, I was told that that ebay rep had given me incorrect information. Their arrogance is unreal. |

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against them (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behavior... You may also report them to your state attorney general's office.
WLD's lawyers could also most likely intervene if need be. Email them on the home page of the site. |
