The people who are must hurt by this are the mentally ill. I would like to file a suit against Western Union and Moneygram on their behalf. My ex-husband has Bipolar disorder that is not adequately controlled with meds. He cannot be conserved because the laws are too stringent to help him. He is so suggestable that if someone told him to jump off of a bridge he would. The signs posted at WU and Moneygram are useless. They know them at their offices and only WU has refused to let him send any more $. It took a fight for WU to cut him off. The operator on the phone told me my ex- had a right to send all of his money overseas and that she "and they" needed to earn a living.

Angry Re: western union class action?

I'd like to know why after being declined by western union they still debited my credit card for over a thousand dollars. Why are the able to hold my money for up to 45 days. Isn't this fraud. Visa thinks it is.
My son had an emergency in Peru. I registered online with western union, filled out every line. At the end of all that I had to phone to give more info. after a very long time I was told my money transfer was declined. WTF, the operator couldn't tell me why. Today I found out they HAD debited my credit card for the transaction and they don't have to refund me for 15 working days or up to 45 days. FRAUD?? I think so. How many hundred of thousands of dollars of other peoples money are they holding for 45 days??

My 85 year old grandmother just got taken for $6000....it wasn't GREED.....they pretended to be me in trouble and needing money fast......Western Union is a Criminal Enterprise....they don't want to stop fraud....they are reaping the benefits of it.....it is Western Union who is operating by GREED....not the victims.

I agree WU is bad and several state attorney generals have already warned WU to change their ways.

What did she do--where did she send 6000?
