Insurance Lawsuit
My friend wrecked my car about 3 years ago and I had no insurance at the time. The other driver's insurance took care of the damage but both the driver and the insurance company is suing him for the damage. The suit was settled with the driver but there is no way my friend can pay the insurance company. They have threatened to suspend his license but now they are also threatening me. Do they have the right to take my license even though I have insurance now and was not driving?

They normally cannot hold you responsible unless you authorized him to drive and knew that neither of you had insurance on the vehicle.
