Angry Recent Microsoft update screwed up my pc again

Quote:
Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close
Microsoft updated my Vista OS last Thursday (03/12/09). Since then I have problems with Word and other programs... I'm unable to edit any document in Word, very very frustrating... This already happened once before with another update. I'm very unhappy with Vista because the software is buggy and updates make it even worse...

I guess I'm not the only person having problems...

Can't edit document : Microsoft,, Word 2007

Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close

The Hate is justified... Wife's laptop with Vista is a dog. IE (with all latest updates) continuously crashes to blue screen. I replaced it with Firefox and now there are no browser crashes, but what does that say for Vista when MS's own browser has issues with the OS and a third party browser doesn't.

What about the real reason why so many dislike Vista?

The inability to run Mission Critical Software for individual businesses. If it can't do at the very least what XP could no matter what they call it how they support it, it is useless to those who may want to use it.

I personally don't like or dislike Vista the hardware required is a non issue to me as just like XP you should be using new hardware that is suitable at the desktop level at least. Though if it will not run devices that worked previously under Vista let alone XP I can not see any business rushing out to embrace it to go broke faster.

The latest data shows that Microsoft's new browser lost market share over the weekend.

Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT)'s Internet Explorer 8 appears to be losing market share, even though the browser has been on the market for less than a week.
As of 8:00 am Monday, IE8 -- released Thursday -- held 1.86% of the browser market, down from a high of 2.59% on Sunday, according to market watcher Net Applications. The most likely reason for the decline is that early adopters of IE8 are switching back to the more familiar, and --at this point -- reliable Explorer 7 browser.

Hi,

See and follow:
How do I uninstall or remove Internet Explorer 8?
"How do I uninstall or remove Internet Explorer 8?"

When you remove Internet Explorer 8, your earlier version of Internet Explorer is restored with your customizations (such as add-ins, Favorites, and your home page).

Hope this helps,

-------------------------------

If you have problems with Internet Explorer 8, you might want to try Compatibility View (Some Web sites may not be displayed correctly or work correctly in Windows Internet Explorer 8 ) or our guided help (Internet Explorer 8: Web sites do not display or work correctly) to see whether you can fix the problem. However, if you just want to uninstall, or remove, Internet Explorer 8, this article helps you do that.

When you remove Internet Explorer 8, your earlier version of Internet Explorer is restored with your customizations (such as add-ins, Favorites, and your home page).

To have us remove Internet Explorer 8 for you, go to the “Fix it for me” section. If you would rather remove Internet Explorer yourself, go to the “Let me fix it myself” section.

How do I uninstall or remove Internet Explorer 8?

To remove Internet Explorer 8 automatically, click the Fix this problem link. Then click Run in the File Download dialog box, and follow the steps in this wizard.
