Hi, i had bought the gravity last week and my dad had told me to charge it fully before you first use it. but knowing me, i kinda didnt listen and started playing around with it. within the time i have had this phone, i realized that its battery life was very POOR. im not sure if its cause i didnt charge it fully or not. I searched around the net and it says that the reason why they want us to charge it fully before the first time use is b/c it needs to reach its chemical capacity level of battery life, and recognize how much it can hold". I would appreciate some help here Tmobilers! Thanks

I had the same problem. I allowed the battery to completely drain then fully charged it. I have to do this twice and now the phone holds a full charge. I took it off of the charger 6:30 this morning and i still have five full charge bars.

I just bought the phone and love it. Yes i agree the worst thing over the last few days is the battery life. Charge it overnight and its dead in the afternoon with a few texts and maybe 5 min of talk time. Is Samsung going to do anything about this?

I've charged the phone completely and drained it until it turned off twice. Do I need to do that every time or can I just charge it when it gets down to 1 bar? I've had this phone since Jan 8th and I've only had to charge it twice. It just went down to 1 bar tonight but it seems like that 1 bar lasts a long time!! Any tips would be great. I love this phone otherwise. Also, I did turn off the key sounds and dimmed the display to conserve battery.
Thanks!! |

Re: Samsung Gravity cell phone poor battery life
I received my phone yesterday evening, charged it all night and this morning sent two texts and one bar down, then I turned it off and turned it back on and I only have three bars left. I had a Katanta and I could go two days without charging it! I have 14 days to test and return it. Im going to try to let it die and do a full charge to see if it helps!

Have had two (my wife's and mine) of these for just about 10 days now. I concur with EVERYTHING that's been written here. The phone is wonderful; the battery is a disaster!!!
Like the poster just above me, we had Katana phones previously (through Sprint) and even at 2+ years, the Katana battery is VASTLY superior to this piece of garbage. Shame, really. |

I am right there with you. The battery life SUCKS!!!!! I did not use my phone AT ALL yesterday and it was completely dead this morning. Also, if I leave it to charge overnight, it never charges completely. It is truly annoying!!!!!

I've had several phones with this problem and I've realized that you shouldn't fully charge it [meaning overnight] after the first time. If you continue giving it a superfluous amount of energy so the phone expects it. So what I do now is leave it in my charger when I'm awake so I know when it's charged all the way and I take it off the charger.
I never leave it in the charger when I'm sleeping anymore. |
