Ok so for 8 months, I have been paying for the service of an 'unlisted' telephone number with my phone company, and today my wife was flipping through the phonebook only to find our name & number published in the most recent copy of the phone book.
To my knowledge I was paying for a service that I obviously did not get.. and it being published for the world to see now opened a window for tons of annoying phone calls from telemarketers, companies, etc. It is also listed on canada411.ca, which also provides a map of where my house is. I am in Ontario Canada, and am wondering just how liable the phone company is, and what I should be potentially asking for in return for their mistake, and the remaining year of inconveinence I have to endure with my number being on display to the world. Is this a privacy issue? Is this a big deal? I know I am not content with my service, that's for sure. Thanks. -S |

They should give you a new number and refund the price for the service--that's it.
