Lightbulb Sling (TVT) surgery gone bad?

Are you suffering, had one or more surgeries to remove a defective TVT (sling) that was supposed to stop urinary incontinence?

Would you like to seek justice via a class action lawsuit? I would. Post a forum reply if you would like to join me in seeking an attorney who will help us through either an existing class action or by filing one.

For many months, I was in severe pain and had constant urinary tract infections because of a defective sling. This resulted in bladder surgery to remove the sling because it had navigated into that organ. I suffered dangerous complications. I'm still not well.

Let's confront what the FDA has allowed to happen because it did not adequately regulate or carry out the needed inspections of many medical products before they were put on the market.

I too would like to join any class action suit against the TVT sling. I had surgery on 4/3/08, so many complications - 3 hospitalizations. Tape was removed on 4/24/08 - so far - so good. What a nightmare.

hi, I had the surgery done 3 yrs ago, and i had one problem after the other, i kept having to urinate all the time-5 to 7 times a night. I was not sleeping. I kept going back to the urologist and he said everything was fine. It was not. 8 mos later i went back again and he said the surgery did not take it was my fault. I did not do anything i was not suppose to do. So i waited a few months then went back and had it done again and paid again 700.00 that my insurance did not cover. I had so much pain and infection after infection. I now have white mucus discharge all the time and i never had one female infection prior to the surgery. IT was the biggest mistake i had ever made. I used to leak just slightly a drop hear and there. I now gush till my bladder is empty with no warning. I found out they make this mesh from silicone material/ i think we need to definately do something about being these physicians guinea pigs

Yes, I would like to be included in a class action suit. I also had complications from the sling surgery that I had in 2005. My sling actually broke and migrated to my groin area and when I started having problems July 2007..it took the doctors three surgery's and months later to correct. My last surgery was done on Jan 25th 2008 and I'm doing good right now, but I should have never went the pain and suffering. I can be reached at Sandy6739@aol.com. Thanks

How many complaints does it take to warrant a class action suit and how does one proceed in getting one started?

You might also report them to your state attorney general's office.

If enough complaints come in they will act as well.

I am waiting for detailed medical records review. Hopefully we can soon move forward with a class action. Let's not give up on justice re these slings being served.

I'm researching re this. At some point--soon--we can consult with an attorney with the goal of filing suit. Thanks for your post.

Confused Re: Sling (TVT) surgery gone bad?

I had surgery 1-7-08 and in hospital 3 times since. The mesh is eroding and has made its way into my bladder and vagina. I have to self cahterize to empty my bladder. I have bladder infections and constant abdominal pain. I am tired all the time and very depressed. I am going to Mayo clinic for help. The company who manufactured this (mess) mesh should be held responsible. Can anyone suggest a course of action?
