I was able to get out of my lease which had 2 years left on it. Firstly, I closed the account which they were debiting more than what was on the lease. Then, by a stroke of luck I found that on 1 of the pages, they had forged my initials that did not match with the rest of the lease. So I wrote a very stern and to the point letter. I told them that they have committed fraud and if they don't let me out of my lease, I will report them to every law enforcement agency I know, the FBI, the New York PD etc., and also report them to the United States Postal service for mail fraud. They let me out of the lease and I have had no further problems.

I also stated in the letter that this was in no way a binding contract. |

HELLO THERE , i BELIEVED THAT I WAS IN A TWO YEAR CONTRACT WITH NORTHERN LEASING. WHEN I CALLED THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A FOUR YEAR CONTRACT. nOW THEY WANT 2014.32 TO BUY THE MACHINE. ALSO, THEY HAVE SENT ME A LETTER TELLING ME(PER MY CONTRACT THAT MY ACCOUNT WILL BE CHARGED 37.66 FILING FEE FOR PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES. BOGUS! WHAT CAN I DO? HELP? I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER SIGNING A CONTRACT AND WAS VERBALLY TOLD IT WAS A TWO YEAR DEAL. MAD AND OUT OF SOLUTIONS. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP. CARLA

I have victimized like many before me. I have contacted ever agency that you can think of including the Attorney Generals Office and the Federal Trade Commission. Every agency states that they have no authority over these issue. They do seem to recognize that I have been wronged. Forgery is against the law in any state. This company has been notified in writing that their lease is not enforceable. Yet they continue to demand money. Im sure my credit rating is doomed. Everyone needs to continue to file complains with all of these agency as well as their government officials. We have to make noise and pressure someone to take action. We need to be more organized and keep track of what states are being victimized. When you file complaint submit a freedom of information act requesting a list of other complaints and case investigations. As of the time of my complaint, Indiana has had five complaints about Northern Leasing in the calendar year of 2008. Bring the information that you gather to the attention of your elected officials. Sooner or latter they will have to answer to the citizens that pay taxes. Do not what another victim is standing alone waiting for your help. There is strength in numbers. Make sure that you follow up you complaints with a few phone calls. If it appears that you will not go away someone may pick up the ball and do their job. Yes, everyone is interested in taking part in a class action suit but someone ( attorney ) needs top organize one. That last one, that is repeatedly referred to is a done deal. It gives us hope but nothing more. Dont waste time act now. Dont wait for Northern Leasing Files suit against you in New York. HOOSIER_DOOGIE@YAHOO.COM

We were suckered by MBF also!! See if this sounds familiar...Sales Rep from Integrity of Texas walks into the store to inquire about any bad checks we may have encountered. And we've had quite a few. Then he proceeds to chirp about their 80 percent bad check recovery rate. WOW!!! That'll grab your attention. We had no professional collection method in place and this Rep says we can set you up with a Check Scanner that connects directly to the SCAN database and will help you filter out the bad checks. The big guys like WALMART use SCAN. Then he says we'll have all returned checks forwarded to Check Recovery Sytems where they'll enter the checks into the SCAN database. Then I assume they pursue the bad check writer for repayment or try the ACH method. Now all of this is at a cost of $99 per month per the sales rep and is cancellable at any time. Then comes the lease agreement which he has my wife sign. No terms are written anywhere on the lease. She then signs a few other pages that apparently lock us into a some sort of agreement with Integrity. We never have seen those pages. We gather up old checks that were NSF or Account Closed and they're off to Check Recovery Land. Then comes the Ingenico Check Reader in the mail. And it was rocket science to get the reader up and running with little or no help from Integrity. I still have no idea how to really use the machine and I can run a check through on a an Account Closed check and it gives me the thumbs up to accept the check. Then here come the monthly bank drafts...$113 to MBF Leasing...$19 to Check Recovery Systems...$20 to ELECTROCHECK. Three months go by and I ask my wife...have you spoken to anyone at Integrity about any progress on these bad checks. Nothing...so we call and they say it takes a while to have an effect in the SCAN database. In the meantime I do some research on MBF and Integrity via Google....WOW another eye opener. We've been scammed. I call the bank and we put stop payments on the drafts upcoming. Then we find out that there will be a $118 property tax charge along with next months normal draft to cover any State/Local charges we may be liable for. Hell, I found the Ingenico Check Reader brand new on EBAY for $75!! How can the taxes be worth more than the unit itself? So we call to cancel with Integrity...and voila...we'll have a termination charge of at least $150 plus a charge of $38 per bad check that we sent them if we want them returned....LOL...they can have them!! Next comes MBF and the racket they're running. Since the Integrity Sales Rep NEVER returned with our completed Lease Agreement as he said he would, nor had we received anything in the mail, I requested a copy of the Lease Agreement during a call to MBF. Now during this time frame, we spoke with the bank about our options to stop the drafts and they said..."close the account and open a new one." So we did just that. And the drafts have stopped. And the phone is ringing, as expected. They did send over the Lease and here's how they did it. They had my wife sign Page 1 of the MBF Lease, then she signed some other documents pertaining to the Integrity Check Recovery Systems. When we received the MBF Lease there is a signature. However, the rest of page one is a handwritten fill-in-the-blanks that never existed when the lease was signed. They added the terms of the lease, the monthly payment, etc, Then they throw in pages 2-4 which you never see when the Rep is there. Here's how MBF beats that. They've changed their lease form to include a statement that by signing the lease, you agree that you have read pages 1-4. But in reality, they don't show you pages 2-4, they show the agreement with Integrity Check Recovery and the SCAN folks (ELCTROCHECK I guess). Never do you see pages 2-4 until they don't get their money and you ask for a copy of your lease. Ever notice when you call MBF the recording has the number 2 prompt dedicated to those wanting a copy of their lease? It's because you never got one in the first place and it's all handwritten in AFTER you've signed page 1 and they add pages 2-4. Every page of the lease should be initialed to acknowledge that it's been read. And that's the way their lease USED TO BE. But they've changed it, probably on the advice of legal counsel, to include the phrase on page 1 that you've read all 4 pages of the lease. ANYWAY...long story even longer...MBF and Integrity are true experts at the SCAM. They won't see another dime here....and I'll see em in court if that's what it takes....ADIOS MBF...

Why aren't we filing a class action lawsuit against this company, we own a small business in GA and hence to say the same thing happened, pages I didn't sign, a two year contract is suddenly a four year contract etc..a fraudulent representative, who is wanted in several states for this same type of fraud, a contract with Global Check systems that I never signed, hence I did get released from that contract. This company should not even exist if they are defrauding all of these people. I am pissed, they have drawn money out of our account, which is more than what we agreed to, it's just a mess and I am pissed, and sorry to see that so many people have been involved with this fraudulent company. We need a class action lawsuit and we need it now!

To small business in GA....if you want to stop the outflow of money, close your bank account and open a new one. Our bank was great inhelping us put the nix on the MFB, Integrity drafts. And now they don't have the bank account number for the ACH. Yes they are in violation of many things it would seem. Yet if you go back on the numerous threads on a Google search pertaining to MFB, Northern Leasing, Integrity, etc, you'll see the same stories over and over back into 2005-2006...yet they still continue the same business practices. Jay Cohen is the head ringleader (CEO Northern Leasing). And he could care less. He has enough money flowing in to hire the big gun attorneys and keep things wrapped up in the courts apparently. But they did lose a case that was brought by the Chittur law firm. See this link for more info. Click on the Northen Leasing case at the top of the page...
Chittur & Associates, P.C., lawyers in New York, NY, New York Anyway, be prepared for phone calls, legal action threats and a promise to tarnish your credit. But this is a scam and the court sided with the plaintifs earlier this year. So a precedent has been set and MFB/Northern Leasing have some issues. I'm fighting back...hopefully you'll do the same. |
