Default Judges's ruling.

Can a judge's ruling in a civil case be appealed? Specifically, if I lost my civil case with the judge ruling against me and was ordered to pay XX amount of dollars to the other party, do I have the option to appeal the ruling or if not so, at least the amount of the judgement?
Thank you.

Yes--but you need to do so promptly in most cases.
