civil or district court?
Hi, I have a quick question and I would really appreciate if someone could help me out. There is a person who got tried in the district court for a criminal case and their was no indictment returned. Could this case be moved to civil court to try to get an indictment from them? If so, what is the probability that the civil court will return an indictment? Also, there is a date set for this person on the 31 st for felony dismissal date. So, I'm confused. If there is a felony dismissal date then why would the state's attorney try to file charges in the civil court.
This whole thing does not make much sense to me and if someone could explain this to me it would be greatly appreciated. |

Civil is separate from the crim proceeding and you can file for civil damages normally, yes.
