Speeding ticket written to wrong person
State: Wisconsin
My brother and I were driving (i was driving) and we were pulled over. For some reason we were both patted down and our vehicle was searched. So we both had to hand over id and we both had to exit the vehicle. He told us the ticket was 6 points worth because we were acting suspicious. They also told me since I had a clean record I should go to the court date on my ticket to get the points reduced. Long story short, when we arrived at our destinaion I noticed the ticket was written out in my brothers name and license information though I was driving. At this point, what are my legal options if any and what can we do to clear my brothers name (whether or not I get the ticket rewritten in my name)? |

You can have the court correct the information. You could try for a dismissal but most courts will just correct it.
