Default Getting Motorcycle Back

I was suppossed to be a cosigner on a motorcycle for my now ex boyfriend back in January in the end only my name was on the loan. Under the written agreement he would be responsible for the payments, registration, and insurance. The motorcycle was purchased in Colorado he transported it to California. I came to California the motorcycle still has no registration on it and I am now moving back to Colorado I would like to get the motorcycle back since it is in my name and I feel like he is jeopordizing my credit and that he has broken the written agreement of the motorcycle by not getting registration in all this time. He refuses to give me the keys of the motorcycle the cops told me that the contract we wrote up was not legal or binding and that it was a verbal agreement I told them that he no longer has my permission to drive the bike and that he rides it without registration and they said they could not make him give me back my keys what are my options of getting my bike back?

Default Re: Getting Motorcycle Back

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against him (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to his behavior...
