Question Being sued for slander

Prior to one of our soccer games, I was angry about being suspended from coaching my game and I I publicly shouted at the club's vice president that I would be calling the newspapers about the activities of the soccer club and that I would sue him personally, and the rest of the board, for what the club is doing (being a former board member of the club, I am aware of activities that are taking place that are not in accordance with the club's bylaws and are possibly not allowed). I just received an email from him stating:
XXX XXXX (my name),
On Saturday 4/14/2007 you publicly made slanderous allegations against me. You also stated that you are suing me personally and that you will be calling the newspapers. Your statements are criminal. I suggest your Attorney prepares the paperwork you have threatened, as I plan on suing you for slander. From this point forward you will have to communicate with my Attorney by contacting The XXXXXXX Law Firm at XXX-XXX-XXXX. You will be receiving a letter from them shortly.
XXX XXX (his name)
Like I said, I was angry and I shouldn't have had that outburst. But my statements were not false. If my statements were true, can he sue me for slander? And should I just go ahead and follow through with what I said in anger? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Default Re: Being sued for slander

No...he is being a bit silly and thin skinned. And truth by the way is a full defense to any slander suit. So don't worry.
