Default Filing suit: is there a time constraint?

Ontario, Canada. I filed a complaint last spring against a financial advisor connected with a large insurance company. Breach of trust, breach of contract and negligence may all enter into it. They've had 12 weeks with it already, but I'll be surprised if I hear from them before the new year, and it could drag on into March, because insurance companies are world-class foot draggers. I may have to sue, and wish to protect my right to do so, without being precipitous about it. How long should I wait? Does the Statute of Limitations apply to such actions?

Default Re: Filing suit: is there a time constraint?

Each cause of action in a complaint has its own SOL.

So you normally need to act within a year to fully preserve all of your rights.
