Default harassing email

I have a person who has been harassing me via email for over 2 months I have asked them to stop writing 20+ times.

The also mintioned in our last email that they are selling the emails between us --

I would like to file a law suit for harassment, slander,theft of personal property etc

how can i find out who is sending me harassing emails if the email address comes from a free site, gmail? I am 100% sure it's an ex-girlfriend of my boyfriend and she also just got out of jail on good behavior, on probation...help

The first step would be to contact the email server, even if it is a free service like hotmail or yahoo you can report this person for harrassment and spam. In theory, the email server will then block them from having an account. Also, if you are replying to these email it could be construed as a conversation. You need to not read them or answer them. Or try hitting delete on all of them from now on. If they get no response, they may give up and leave you alone.

Simply delete them without reading. If you receive an email from an address that is not familiar to you, you are under no obligation to open it.

Change your email settings to automatically delete the offending email.

Unfortunately, with spam and phishing and all the other email fraud that goes on, it's almost impossible to actually win a lawsuit over something like this.

If need be, change your email address.
