town trying to force out my tattoo shop

I own a tattoo shop in NY, i've only been open since january 2009 and the town is trying to force us out. They tell us that our sign that we have out hanging is distracting (its just a sign with our name, its green, yellow and white and black) I had painted things on the window (which my landlord was ok with) but the town say's its against the law b/c its also distracting. What am i to do? Our shop is Kid friendly for those parents that have nobody to watch their children. We have a childrens room with tv, toys etc. My own children play here while my husband and i are here. None of the children go into the tattoo/ procedure room. only 18+ go in there. The town called cps on me and now the state is trying to have my kids taken.... I'm an honest person trying to make a living for my family, there is no law stating that children are not allowed in a tattoo shop, we have all the safety messures we need, doors, locks, gates etc... I even offer snacks, drink etc for the children. What am i doing wrong? and what can i do to fight them from trying to get me out of the town? i've paid all my building permits, permit to hang my sign (which they wont let me) everything that i needed to do.

If you are within all codes and rules they cannot force you out. Go to the city council meetings to discuss--or if need be have a lawyer call them and ask them to to explain.

I am sure world law could also help you if need be. You may want to email them privately as well.
