Default True and Correct Copy!

Can an attorney who is the Plaintiff (substitute trustee) do his own certifications? Point in question: In Maryland foreclosures, the substitute trustees have to docket certain papers into the court. One is a certified true and correct copy of the original promissory note. So if the foreclosure action is in the attorney's name as the substitute trustee then how can he be the one to certify that the document is a true and correct copy. Wouldn't that be some kind of conflict of interest? Especially when the copy that he is certifying looks like it has been copied ten times...so there is no way it is a copy from an original. Looking for a rule or something to disqualify.

Thanks...

I doubt there is much you can do. Attorney is member of the court, and is assumed to do the legal thing, unless you can prove otherwise. The original promissory note should be on file with the original papers and deed. These are public records and you can get a copy at the courthouse.
