Default Post statute of limitations...

Here is my question/problem...I live Illinois & I had a credit card that charged off in December 1999. I have recently been notified that a judgement by an attorney's office was obtained in September 2007. They began garnishing my paycheck without my knowledge (I was in the middle of a voluntary garnishment with another company & thought they were continuing their garnishment as per our agreement) in March of 2008. Everything that I have read & been told is that they are out of the statute of limitations for collecting on this. Can anyone advise if this is true or where I can go to get definite information? As of today they have taken $1800 & if they are in the wrong, I want my money back & will file suit per FDCPA. PLEASE HELP!!!
