Angry Misled

Hi. About a year ago Ive purchased a vehicle, which at that time wasnt aware that it was not free owned. On the agreement it just stated the monthly installments that needed to be paid. It was purchased from my husbands cousin. A verbal agreement was made about 5 months later that a deposit of R5K was required. We had paid R 3500 and oweing a balance of 1500. When they had asked for the balance we had it available for them, then he said he doesnt want it and he want the car back.Out of fear we handed the keys back.
We had paid over R11K. Is that a loss on our side or can we persist a case.
Please advise URGENTLY.

Regards
Chantal Pillay

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against them (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behavior...
