My brother has recently found out by a Paternity test that his son (first born) is not his child (0%). He has paid child support for 6 years. He was splashed all over the front page of our local newspaper as a deadbeat dad when DHR publisized that he was behind in his support, 2 times his name was published, now he finds out the child is not his.WHAT SHOULD HE DO? WILL HE BE CREDITED ALL THE SUPPORT HE PAID ON THIS CHILD?

No. He tried to tell his lawyer at the beginning that he believed one of the children or both were not his. Nothing was ever done, so he went to health link and got the tests run on him and the two children. It is court approved.

After 6 years, it's doubtful that he can do anything, but he should get a consult with a local attorney to make sure. |

He has gotten a lawyer. Yes , they are going for the back child support paid to be given as a credit to his future child support.
