Confused need help BAD!!! support issue

I had a child with a girl that was a one night stand but still a friend a few years back. I have never seen the child, and she is married now to another man. I suffered a stroke in 2002 and since then have been struggling with my health and finances including trying to declare bankruptcy. I'm trying to get disability cause i can't work. Still haven't gotten that, but am fighting for it. I am required to pay the minimul for child support. She doesn't WANT child support at all from me, but because she is on govt' assistance, it's manditory. I can't pay regular monthly bills like for a place to live, let alone support. I owe back support and am afraid i'll get put in jail eventually. I've thought of simply signing over my rights because she has a husband. However, they are having problems, and he is thinking of getting a divorce from her. She would gladly sign over rights or adopt the child if she could, but since she's getting split up, there has to be a "father figure"
Any help or thoughts? i need it!

Erik

You should get a consult with an attorney right away. Since you are disabled, if you can prove that, you might be able to get the court to abate your current CS.
