my lawyer became a judge

I'm going for child custody and my lawyer just received her jugeship....what is funny is I was suppose to go to court with in a week and the other parent just re-hired an attorney. Now the court date has been continued to two months from now. I' upset because I've already been waiting for months to go to court (I know child custody battles can be drawn out for years) but it seems like instead of my lawyer taking my case she let it go so she could go ahead with her judgeship duties.can anybody help...How long do you have between ending your other cases and being a judge.. what options do I have
