My daughter's mother has sued me for child support after four years of trying to have an amicable relationship for my daughter's sake, and I was wondering if any of you were familiar with the process. I appeared at my child support hearing last week and my lawyer had filed a denial of paternity prior to the court date and I was told at said court date that I could leave and would need to come back in a few months for a DNA test. Does anyone know why this would take so long and what happens next? Also, would the mother know that the denial had been filed prior to the court date and if not when will she find out and she and the child have to be tested? Any info you could give would be greatly appreciated.

It is whatever the court schedules but dockets may be booked where you are.
It normally moves faster than that. |
