Default Protecting my daughter

My husband is a drug addict & alcoholic who has not been home for almost a month. He has left me with three stepchildren & our six year old daughter and has given no financial support. He won't answer my calls & has had minimal contact on the phone with our children. He is now telling the children he is coming home & is planning a life with my stepchildren only. I am moving with our daughter to an apartment in November but in the meantime I'm worried if he comes home & takes my young daughter anywhere while drunk or high. We rent the house from his father so I can't keep him out & I work full time so I can't always be there. Do I have any recourse at all to protect my little girl?
