Default Room Sharing?

I am a parent who has primary custody and my child recently told me that when at the non-custodial house they have to share a room with a step-sibling of the opposite sex. How should I handle this? Is there a way I can have this checked out or confirmed? Can this help me get more of my custody back or be something that helps me if the other parent tries to get more visitation as they have in the past?
Also, what if at mediation one parent promises things (getting secondary insurance coverage) or tells things (I just went and payed a lot on my child support) that end up being lies. Is this something that can be documented and help me?

Social services could interevene if you wish.

That does not sound like a healthy situation.

So how do I go about having this done? Can it be done discreetly? What about the other stuff (lies in mediation)?

I would suggest you just call social services to discuss confidentially.

Could this affect custody?

Before you call social services-
What is the ages of the children in question?
How many children are sharing a room?

It is not against the law for siblings to share a room, especially if the ages are fairly close. Quite often a non custodial parent doesn't have the financial ability to have seperate rooms, most of the time due to paying CS.

Well the non custodial neglects to pay so that is hardly the problem. The situation is this: my child is of the opposite sex of his/her 2 step-siblings. The oldest has a room to his/her self while my child and the other share. All are elementary age with mine being the youngest.

It was my understanding that a room had to be provided?

No, a room is not legally required. Since both children that share a room are obviously pretty close in age, there shouldn't be a problem.

Is the non custodial parent court ordered to pay CS? If so, and payments aren't being made you can take it to court to enforce the CS order.
