Backpay on Child Support
I live in Manitoba, Canada. This may be for US res. only. If not, My exhusband owes me alot of money on backpay for child support. Is there any law that can force him to pay it? I have a legal aid lawyer and we have been fighting this for over a year. My lawyer is not doing his job. All he has done so far is, between him and my ex's lawyer they got me off maintainence enforcment and now I have no means of collecting the money he owes me. What can I do? If you can't help me, could you suggest someone that can? Thanks so much.

There sure is. If he willingly fails to pay he can be jailed if need be. His assets can also be seized as if any other judgment were levied against him.
