custody battle in missouri

my question is i live in missouri and i want to know if i have a chance at getting custody of my children when we go to court for divorce if my husband has an exparte against me and temporary custody of our children i dont do drugs and i dont drink my husband does both he is an alcholic and they gave him temporary custody of our children because he called the police and lied to them telling them i hit him to get me arrested so he could get temporary custody i have not been able to see or talk to my children in a week because if i call he will have me arrested again by the way i was not charged with anything but they arrested me and held me for twelve hours they said it was a he said she said matter and they have to hold you for a domestic violence report how is it legal for someone to lie and have you arrested and why do the police go along with it

Most courts are not going to deny custody to the mom unless there is a very serious issue and problem--even if they did do so temporarily.
