Divorced overseas: Register the divorce in the States and reinforce the order
I married my ex-husband in the States but we divorced overseas. The court ordered him to pay child support and alimony. He stopped paying both a long time ago, hasn't visited or called our child for over a year. What should I do to register the divorce in the States and reinforce the order? I live overseas now. Do I have to go back to the States or can I do something from here?

Under treaties with most major countries it is valid now--you just need a local court to start enforcing it.
A local family law lawyer can help you to do so. Or email world law. |
