Question Sex offender and child protection (South Dakota)

My ex started dating a registered sex offender over a year ago. This person molested his own daughter and was imprisoned. Ex datea him and has now moved in with him and our 2 daughters are living with him. Our minor daughters had a sex offender living with them in an apartment before the move. SD c.hild protection was contacted and they don't care but finally contacted Yankton SD law enforcement who just ignore the law. A motion was filed for change of custody under the law but SD Courts don't follow the law.

Judianne Cochran, child custody expert was contacted. Family Courts don't follow the law. Reporting a child molester is living with minor children, although violates the law, laws are not enforced by family Court Judges. A registered sex offender, who molested his own daughter, moves in with a woman with 2 daughters does not bother Social Services, law enforcement or Family Judges. According to Ms. Cochran laws are not relevant you have to pay for an attorney, or laws will be ignored. What happened to this being a nation of laws not men? The worst thing you can do is contact child protection or law enforcement.

If you don't have the money to get a change of custody filed by an attorney, a child molester can do as he pleases with children not his?

If it were my children, I would not cease any and all efforts to get this guy out of the house and the children's lives. I would move to change custody for the ex putting your children at risk, for starters.

Publicity needs to be given to these public officials who are so callous and reckless with children's welfare. In many states child offenders are not allowed to live within so many yards or miles of a school. Yet these people allow a sex offender to live in a house with two minor girls?

Take your outrage to the press -- to the internet -- to the streets -- whatever it takes. And move to change custody on these and whatever other grounds you have. Be ready to appeal if need be, too.

Outrageous!!!!!

I am totally confused with the facts and it is quite difficult to digest the entire facts. In many states CP services are keeping a good job especially in case of child torture /abuse. It is difficult to believe that the court has not followed the law. If you had clearly contested the case by adducing cogent and convincing evidence, it seems that court would have taken appropriate action. Especially in child molesting cases court will always give importance to the best interest of the child. If the court doesn’t follow the law you have the option to challenge the same by filing an appeal. You can very well fight for getting the custody of the children (if the facts are true). Be frank, I don’t think that no courts will take a negative view in such cases.
