Father wants to forfeit his Parental Rights...
My daughter is 6 and we live in Washington state. I her mother, have raised her all along. Her dad has been into drugs & prison most of that time. He is out now, has a had a child with a 19 year old girl, and wants nothing to do with my daughter. He has said he wishes to sign off his parental rights. I think that is best, it's not like he's ever contributed anyways. I have never gotten a parenting plan or a support order too busy working two jobs! He did sign the paternity acknowledgment at her birth. My questions are does WA state allow him to forfeit his rights? Will he not have to pay support? How hard are these papers to file? Can I do it myself or will I need to hire an attorney? Any feedbak would help! Thanks!

what you need is a husband willing to adopt the child before dad can sign over his rights.
